Child hit by car in Calliope driveway is in stable condition
4.45pm Friday: The one-year-old child struck by a car in a driveway at Calliope on Thursday night remains in a stable condition at the Royal Children's Hospital, Brisbane, after being transported there from Gladstone Base Hospital.
Earlier: Police are investigating after a child was run over by a vehicle in a Calliope driveway on Thursday night.
The one-year-old child was hit at about 6.30pm.
Police said early information suggested the child made its way onto the driveway and was hidden from view by the steep gradient.
The child was taken to Gladstone Base Hospital before being flown to the Royal Children's Hospital in Brisbane with serious but non-life threatening injuries.
Investigations are continuing.
