Saddle up for new weekend racing guide

CAN champion trainer Chris Waller dominate Saturday's feature George Main Stakes - just as he did when he saddled up the first six horses home in the Chelmsford Stakes a fortnight ago?

That and other racing mysteries will become clearer for punters when they read The Observer's new-look Weekend Race Guide on Friday.

Nobody can predict race winners with 100% certainty, but The Observer's team of racing experts, led by experienced form analyst Glenn Davis, will give punters a handy head start.

The bright, easy-to-read guide will carry the colours of the jockeys' silks for every runner at the weekend's major metropolitan meetings.

And the fields will include the name of the trainer, plus a unique rating for every runner, on top of the regular information.

The new Weekend Race Guide, produced in partnership with corporate bookmaking giant Ladbrokes, will have an expanded tips panel - featuring our tipsters' selections for the first four positions in every race - and will cover more Saturday meetings than ever before.

Each race will be summed up by our expert racing team. They will give their views on how the race will be run, who will be the main contenders, and which of the roughies are worth some thought.

Everything in the guide is provided with the aim of helping readers sort out the chances quickly and easily.

Watch for the new Weekend Racing Guide in Friday's The Observer.
