The event, set to be held at Benaraby Raceway, will feature 4WD competitions, drag racing, street comps, burnout competitions and freestyle motocross.

Octane Fest co-director Ben Kirk said this year would be the first official Octane Fest.

"Octane Fest is a car competition to try and get people off the streets, and a good event for Central Queensland car enthusiasts," Mr Kirk said.

In addition to some promo girls, Mr Kirk said there would also be a show and shine "for people who don't want to put their cars on the dragway and flog the cobwebs out of them".

Gates open at 7am on Saturday. Racing will be held from 10am-10pm and there also will be be an after party.

Entry for $20 adults, $13 for kids aged 13-16 and kids under 12 are admitted free.

If you haven't registered your car, you can still nominate on the day. Cost to compete is $100.
