NYE OFFENDERS: Drink drivers, public nuisance
POLICE have praised residents for a mostly well-behaved New Year's Eve with no significant events.
About 2500 went to the 8pm fireworks event at the Memorial Park in Gladstone.
Gladstone officers said there were no significant incidents with only minor public nuisance offences across the various celebrations in the region.
On New Year's Eve and New Year's Day five people were charged with drink driving.
The highest reading was a 27-year-old man who allegedly returned a blood alcohol concentration reading of 0.18 on Petrel St, Kirkwood at 4am New Year's Day.
A 34-year-old man was also charged with drink driving after allegedly returning a BAC of 0.16 on Round Hill Rd, Agnes Water just after midnight on January 1.
Also in Agnes Water a 54-year-old man allegedly returned a reading of 0.065 on Tavern Rd.In Boyne Island a 27-year-old man allegedly blew 0.108 on Malpas St while a 52-year-old man allegedly returned a reading of 0.055 on Kariboe St, Biloela.
