No new date set to hand down harbour health report

A WEEK on from the Federal Government's decision to extend the deadline for the independent review of Gladstone harbour, there's still no new due date for the findings.

The government has granted an extension to the Independent Review of the Port of Gladstone, saying a revised due date would be advised shortly.

A Department of Sustainability, Environment, Water, Population and Communities spokesman said it was important the review was given "adequate time to fully consider and document its findings".

The report had been due by June 30, six months after the Environment Minister ordered the report at the request of the UN World Heritage Committee.
