No more Dreamer's Corner at Boyne Island

A SIGN has been erected at the corners of Wyndham Ave and Centenary Dr, Boyne Island, informing residents that cars and boats should not be parked on the private-owned land.

The area was previously known as Dreamer's Corner and residents would park their cars or boats for sale on the land.

The sign reads, "In terms of council bylaws and or occupying private property without the necessary permits or authority for trading/sale activities on or in public space is prohibited".

Gladstone councillor Col Chapman said it was unacceptable for people to sell their property on the land.

"Council's regulatory services department discourages residents to position items on corners as they are major distractions to people driving vehicles," Cr Chapman said.

"Council encourages the Gladstone region community to use online classifieds or commercial (licensed) car sale outlets."

The Dreamer's Corner sign was also taken down from the land.
