GLADSTONE Area Promotion and Development Limited (GAPDL) in partnership with Tourism and Events Queensland (TEQ) announced the release of the Queensland on YouTube project on Thursday.

GAPDL Chief Executive Glenn Churchill said the new digital projects will promote the Gladstone region and Banana Shire as the preferred tourism and lifestyle destinations to potential holiday maker's world-wide.

"The 'Queensland on YouTube' project will see more than 300 videos created to significantly increase the presence of Queensland's tourism industry online, including almost 200 videos created specifically for small tourism business operators who do not have a large YouTube presence," he said.

"The YouTube clips capture the fantastic people, places, experiences and scenery of Queensland. Most importantly this great project has successfully included the Gladstone Region and Banana Shire profiled as a great place visitors can experience and enjoy."

GAPDL Project Officer Melissa Dahtler said: "It's estimated that YouTube attracts more than one billion unique visitors each month and these videos will showcase Gladstone Region and Banana Shire to prospective travellers searching for holiday inspiration online."

A range of videos have now been uploaded to and promoted on YouTube and other social media channels.
