New Auckland growing in popularity as central suburb
IT'S fast becoming the central suburb of Gladstone. Only a short drive to Kin Kora shopping centre, New Auckland is gaining more popularity over time.
First National Gladstone principal Paul Markwell said there are a mix of people currently living in the New Auckland area.
"As well as retired people, there are retired people from New Auckland moving south, enabling younger families to come into the area," he said.
"There has been a number of properties gone on to the market but also properties commencing to be sold."
According to Australian Property Monitors (APM) Property Data 84 properties have sold in New Auckland in the last six months.
Mr Markwell said with its close proximity to Kirkwood Rd shopping centre and Kin Kora, the area is somewhat becoming the central suburb of Gladstone.
"It's close to the home centre with Bunnings and Harvey Road Tavern is also on the boarder."
Mr Markwell said there are different areas in New Auckland.
"Places that have been established for 30 years," he said.
"Then there's newer areas that have been established for the last 10 years.
"The newer areas I think are a sort of good family area."
In close proximity to the Gladstone Airport, Mr Markwell said New Auckland has a range of housing prices in the high $300,000's to the low $400,000's.
"That's the sort of selling activity happening," he said.
There are currently 239 properties for sale in New Auckland according to APM Property Data.
