National Youth Week gives youngsters plenty to do
NATIONAL Youth Week will kick off on Friday, which will see more than 20 events offered over nine days.
The Gladstone Regional Council will launch its program of events with the invitation-only Mayor's Youth Breakfast.
Council's Community Services portfolio spokesperson Councillor Maxine Brushe said more than 20 events were organised including movie nights, a skate park competition, Beat Box workshop and Master Chef Challenge.
"The activities are designed to celebrate the contribution our younger generations are making in our communities," Cr Brushe said.
"Most of the events are free of charge so I encourage our younger residents to participate."
"In addition to entertainment and fun there are events which will provide invaluable practical advice and resources for youth up to age 25; particularly the Resume Preparation Workshops, Car Maintenance Workshop and the Parent/Teen Legal Myth Busters sessions," she said.
Bookings are required for many of the activities with a full program available on Council's website at www.gladstone.qld.gov.au/youth-events-and-activities
