Mum with art talent busy preparing for solo exhibition
KRISTEL Kelly is busy preparing for her annual solo exhibition Where for art hue? at Community Arts on Goondoon.
She creates vibrant and bold paintings and breathtaking drawings and will present a showcase of her most recent works this month.
The official opening is on this Sunday, February 3, at 3pm and the exhibition continues until the end of the month.
Kristel has work in many private collections both nationally and overseas.
Most recently she has shown work in the Martin Hanson Memorial art prize, Precious, the annual Creative Gladstone Region Inc members show and The Circle Art Group's annual exhibition.
She also volunteers at the local art centre in the role of media and promotions co-ordinator and is the online voice of the community group.
Involved in the fundraising and sponsorship committee, she is currently planning the first major fundraiser for 2013, an art auction for the centre.
This incredibly busy mother of two somehow also finds the time to paint.
If you are interested in joining the group or volunteering, drop in to the opening on Sunday and speak to Kristel to get more information, see what the centre has to offer or even go into the draw to win tickets for the Agnes Waters Blues and Roots Music Festival (raffle tickets available from the centre at $2 each or 3 for $5 and the prize is a double three-day pass). Community Arts on Goondoon is at 89a Goondoon St Gladstone.
Normal opening hours are Monday to Friday from 10am - 2pm and Saturday until 12.
Entry is from the car park behind the Commonwealth Bank with access from Roseberry St or Central Lane. Phone 49721919.
Hope to see you later ........on "the doon".
