Morcombe's alleged killer seeks bail
THE man accused of murdering Queensland schoolboy Daniel Morcombe wants to live in Brisbane if he is granted bail while awaiting trial.
Brett Peter Cowan, 42, was arrested in August and charged with murder, child stealing, deprivation of liberty, indecent treatment of a child and interfering with a corpse.
The charges came after an eight-year investigation into the disappearance of Daniel, who was 13 when he vanished while waiting for a bus on the Sunshine Coast in 2003.
Cowan has been held in custody since his arrest, however his lawyer Tim Meehan said today that he expected to apply for bail within a few weeks.
"We've been trying to put a set of conditions together that would be attractive to a Supreme Court Justice in considering bail," Mr Meehan said.
