Miriam Vale library relocation project continues
PREPARATIONS for the second stage of the Miriam Vale library relocation project have started with storage space to house library resources being created at the Miriam Vale council administration centre.
Construction work at the administration centre, due to being on Monday, will create a shared entrance for the existing customer service and new library facilities.
Council's arts and culture portfolio spokesman Ren Lanzon said the library's relocation would enable residents to access a greater number of council services at one venue.
"The project will align Miriam Vale with the rest of the region with centralised council services, minimising travel and increasing usability," Cr Lanzon said.
Construction work on the project will take place between 6am to 6pm on weekdays until June 30.
During this time, the existing Miriam Vale Library located at 34 Roe Street will still be operational and residents will be able to access the council administration centre building by using the existing entrance.
