
Mills puts Boomers into quarters
NBA guard Patrick Mills piled on 39 points as Australia secured a berth in the Olympic men's basketball medal play-offs with a 106-75 victory over winless host nation Great Britain.
The Boomers improved to 2-2 in Group B and secured the fourth seed for the quarter-finals.
Australia will face the United States if the unbeaten Americans beat Argentina in the last preliminary game on Tuesday morning (AEST).
The US earlier had a tight 99-94 triumph over Lithuania.
Britain seized a 46-36 half-time lead but the Aussies began the third quarter with a 17-7 run and seized their first lead of the game at 56-55 on a three-pointer by Matt Dellavedova midway into the third quarter.
