UPDATE 3.50PM: POLICE have two men in custody after a man was allegedly stabbed in his Tinana home before his motorcycle was stolen in the early hours of Thursday morning.

Maryborough police Criminal Investigation Branch Detective Acting Senior Sergeant David Guild said the bike was located about 10am on Thursday morning - about six and a half hours after the incident.

"After some further investigation police now have two male persons in custody," he said.

"There are some further enquiries going to be conducted in relation to a number of offences happening out of the Ipswich area and we will be interviewing them in relation to those matters."

Snr Sgt Guild said the men were not believed to be from the area and did not know the alleged victim.

EARLIER: A 34-YEAR-OLD man is recovering after a stabbing in Maryborough in the early hours of Thursday. 

Sergeant Chris Farlow from Maryborough Police Station said it is believed two men stole the 34-year-old's motorbike after a fight around 3.30am.

Sergeant Farlow said the victim, who lives in Maryborough, suffered a stab wound under his left arm and lacerations near his left eye. 

He has been discharged from hospital. 

Police located the motorbike at Ned Kelly's Motel and are making inquiries to find those involved in the incident. 

It's believed two men stole the motorbike from the Maryborough home. 

No charges had been laid at 8am.
