Man missing in Gladstone Harbour

THE search for a crewman missing after a tugboat capsized in the Gladstone Habour has resumed on Sunday.

About 12.50pm on Saturday police received information that the 23 metre boat had capsized with four men on board at the mouth of the Calliope River.

An Adones tug boat was towing a water barge in the Gladstone Harbour when it lost its steering and girded, and rolled over and sank. There were four people on board.

Water Police were able to rescue three men but were unable to locate the fourth man, a 64-year-old man from Gladstone.

Police set up a 100 metre exclusion zone around the tug boat as they continued the search yesterday.

Police divers were expected on the scene on Saturday night.

Maritime Safety Queensland will investigate what caused the tug boat to sink.
