Magistrate warns of danger of ‘contaminated’ drug

A 21-YEAR-OLD Tannum Sands man was one of many who found themselves in court this week for drug-related offences.

On June 28, Joshua Nathan Harper was caught carrying a quantity of speed in Tyson Cres in Tannum Sands.

Harper admitted to police he was going to use the drugs that night.

He pleaded guilty in Gladstone Magistrates Court on Tuesday to possessing dangerous drugs and utensils.

Magistrate Russell Warfield said methamphetamine was a dangerous drug.

"You don't know what's in it," he said.

Mr Warfield told Harper if he continued to use drugs, he must be prepared to face the consequences.

Harper was fined $800 with a conviction recorded.
