What's on at Gladstone's pubs and clubs

LOOKING for something to do in the Gladstone region this weekend? Here's a rundown of some of the events and activities available.

Kids' Big Night Out

ON the second Friday of every month, children aged 2-12 years are invited to dinner and a fun night of movies, games and activities at Yaralla Sports Club.

Kids' Big Night Out is held from 6-9pm. Tickets are on sale from the concierge desk at the club. Book early to take advantage of discounts.

Cost is $10 per child or three children for $25 if pre-purchased, or $15 per child on the door.

This kids only event is fully supervised and includes dinner and drinks.

Gala night of the year

THE Quoin Island Turtle Rehabilitation Centre's gala benefit night is on Saturday night.

The inaugural fundraising event is for our local marine conservation initiative, with prizes for the best ocean-inspired outfits.

The sea level will rise at the Quoin Island Retreat for an eclectic three-course floating buffet and all-night entertainment.

The cocktail event will feature lucky door prizes and a live auction, with prizes such as a holiday to the Sunshine Coast up for grabs.

Tickets are $150 per person, or $130 for bookings of 10 people. Bookings are essential. Call 4970 0123 or book online.

Night of laughs

ARJ Barker performs at the Gladstone Entertainment Centre on Saturday night from 8pm. Since his last Australian tour in 2011, Arj has been touring constantly, both solo and with his old pals, The Flight of The Conchords.

He returns to Australia with his brand new show, Go Time. According to Arj, Go Time is both "what audiences expect from me AND the last thing they expect from me, which if my calculations are correct, will make for a great show."

Tickets cost $44.90. Visit gec.gladstonerc.qld.gov.au.

PRESENTED by Rotaract Club of Gladstone, Oktoberfest is the biggest event on the beer drinking calendar, with live music, local and German beers, food stalls and plenty of good times to be had by all.
