THE new Miriam Vale Library was officially opened to the public yesterday and those present were delighted with what they saw.

The move to the front half of the Miriam Vale Council office has provided a much more spacious and open environment for book lovers and students from the area.

A wider range of facilities and resources is now available to the public to further accommodate the needs of adults, children and students.

There is now a separate playroom for juniors which has toys and children's books.

A separate room has been provided for children where they can play the new PlayStation 4, thus allowing students and adults to study or read in a peaceful environment.

Library-goers will also have access to iPads in a separate computer room.

Library manager Sandra Crawford said the expansion had been a huge success and she hoped it would draw more people to use the facility.

"It's such a great, big, open and spacious building - it's a much better environment for readers," she said.

"The new library has something for everyone, accommodating visitors of all ages.

"It's also a lot more comfortable as we got new couches and the rooms are brighter, giving it a more relaxed atmosphere.

The library is now at 41 Blomfield St, Miriam Vale.
