Liam takes it all on board at Tannum Sands SLSC nippers
UNDER-9 nipper Liam Morris took all before him in the board race on Sunday at Tannum Sands Surf Life Saving Club.
Competing against 10 similarly aged youngsters, eight-year-old Liam said the morning did not produce a win but he was satisfied.
"I went well but have not won any races although I have come close," Liam, from Calliope, said.
Given the heat Liam said swimming was the preferred discipline.
"I mainly like the water events and I am best at swimming," he said.
"I want to become a professional lifesaver."
Liam also does soccer, swimming and roller-skating.
Group-age manager for the under-9s, Emma Booth, said her young life- savers enjoyed every second on the sand and in the water.
"They all absolutely enjoy being down here and they love getting down on the boards," Booth said.
"The winners also get a sense of achievement because they feel like they have done something," she said.
