Kings remain alive in hunt for NBL crown
The Sydney Kings have stayed in NBL play-off contention by stunning the 36ers 102-89 in Adelaide yesterday.
NBA veteran Sam Young finished with a game high 24 points, and got the ball rolling for the visitors by dropping in 10 first-quarter points on the way to an early 28-24 lead.
While Young (pictured) was brilliant as usual, the star was big man AJ Ogilvy who missed just one shot on his way to 18 points, 14 rebounds and three blocks.
The result lifted Sydney into fourth place at the expense of Cairns who went down to Wollongong 82-79 at home on Saturday night.
The big winner on the weekend was Perth which beat Townsville 102-87 at home on Friday night, and the same opponent 103-97 in north Queensland yesterday.
Round 13 results (home teams first): Melbourne 87 lost to NZ Breakers 93, Perth 102 def Townsville 87, Cairns 79 lost to Wollongong 82, Adelaide 36ers 89 lost to Sydney 102, Townsville 97 lost to Perth 103.
