LISA Wale spends her days surrounded by beautiful shoes and bags, so it's no wonder if she ends up purchasing a few more items than most.

"I have too many," she said of her shoe collection.

Through her work as the store manager of Williams in Stockland Gladstone Shopping Centre Ms Wale has met people who put her wardrobe to shame.

"I've had customers tell me they have over 140 pairs of shoes," she said.

Ms Wale said the store, where she has worked for the past four years, was experiencing a busy period with lots of people looking for party shoes for events.

There have also been plenty of people taking advantage of the store's 40% off storewide offer for Fusion family and friends by purchasing work shoes - the sale ends on Sunday.

"We have lots of staff organised to work Saturday ready for the crowd," she said.

"Our stockroom is full."

Despite the role being hectic at times, Ms Wale loves her job and the social interactions it provides.

"Getting to meet so many interesting people and helping people pick out their outfits is fun," she said.

As for her own taste in footwear, Ms Wale said although she knows she should look for comfort it's shoes with bling or new trends that tend to catch her eye.

Ms Wale has lived in the region for the past 20 years and loves "the small community vibe" - her husband Vaughan, four children and parents also call Gladstone home.
