It's only the beginning for Conway
AUSSIE RULES: A chance meeting with an ex-AFL Capricornia player was all it took for Danny Conway to have BITS Saints as his club of preference.
A product at Wilston Grange since under-8s in Brisbane, Conway and his partner moved to Gladstone so she could do her country service as a primary school teacher.
"I'm impressed at how competitive the level of football is in a smaller town and have been grateful to be welcomed into the Saints team," Conway said.
And he impressed with his clean skills and speed through the middle of the ground and was best-on-ground in last Saturday's game against Rockhampton Brothers.
"I've been playing midfield which is enjoyable as it is my favourite position," Conway said.
"I think there's always room for improvement but I'm fairly happy with how I'm going at the moment."
He looks like he's set for the long haul. "I am currently finishing a bachelor of exercise science and business administration with the hopes of moving into education," he said.
"I am also currently working in the Special Education Unit at a local primary school.
"I have really enjoyed the move up here and am excited for the years to come."
