It all comes down to this round in Rocky

NETBALL: The return of versatile Sheena Gilmour has given Gladstone a huge boost for today's crunch games against Rockhampton and Mackay.

Today's second round of the Queensland Premier League matches will have the Gladstone Opens, under-18 and U16 teams play at Jardine Park in Rockhampton.

After Gladstone lost the opening two games against Rocky last month, coach Karen Petherick expects a fired-up outfit.

"That's the plan to win both games and square our win-loss to 2-2," she said.

"We had a good session at training and the girls also played in a carnival in Bundaberg a couple of weeks ago."

Petherick said both wins were vital in order to square the ledger with Rockhampton and if Gladstone does that then it will be in a good position to play in the finals.

"The final round is in Mackay in August and that will determine the finals series to be played on the Sunshine Coast," she said.
