Tannum has chance to hit-out in surf before state titles

THREE weeks after hitting the road for the branch championships in Hervey Bay and two weeks before once again following the long line of competitors to North Kirra, Tannum Sands' committed group will once again send a healthy number of athletes on to opposition sand.

This time though, the atmosphere will be a little less intense than the branch trip, and definitely less hectic than the upcoming State Titles on the Gold Coast beach.

Travelling to Agnes Water for the Wide Bay Capricorn (WBC) branch Board Riding Championships and U11-17 carnival, 28 of Tannum Sands' finest will be looking for a last hit-out in decent surf.

"The majority who are going to states are going to Agnes Water, and they are looking forward to it," team manager Tony Poli said.

"It is a big commitment for families and the kids."

Not too concerned about results, Poli is excited to see just how many are making multiple trips and representing the club in the best possible manner. That said, the kids themselves will be keen to win. Only individual events will be on the schedule at Agnes Water, including sprints, flags, board, swim and iron person.
