Busy mum's lifestyle by Tannum Sands beach is a beauty
BEAUTY therapist Amanda McClure loves the coastal lifestyle her family are able to enjoy by living in Tannum Sands.
Originally from Sydney, Amanda moved to the region seven years ago after meeting her husband Leigth, who had moved to Sydney for a time after finishing an apprenticeship in central Queensland.
The rest of the McClure household is made up of the pair's children Tristan, 9, Lily, 8, and Noah, 5.
It's a busy residence with Amanda running a home-based beauty business specialising in shellac nails, waxing and tanning.
Amanda said one of the benefits of working from home was the "freedom of having good hours" it allowed, which makes things easier with three young children.
"Especially since they do every sport under the sun," she laughed.
This is the first season the McClure family has been involved with Tannum Sands Surf Life Saving Club, and Amanda said the kids were loving being Nippers.
Asked what prompted them to sign up, Amanda said the family were already involved in surfing and had been going down to Agnes Water all the time, so it was a logical next step.
"The kids were down the beach all the time and loved it," she said.
If Amanda's face seems familiar, it may be because you've seen her model outfits for Coastline Clothing at local events.
"We've become good friends and our kids go to the same school," she said of Coastline Clothing's owner Kelly Wildman.
Amanda is featured in The Observer's special races lift-out tomorrow, showcasing fashion fit for the Surf to Turf Family Race Day.
Saturday's race day raises funds for the Tannum Sands Surf Life Saving Club.
