Health a hot topic

HEATED discussion demanding better services at Gladstone Hospital was on the agenda at the Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service board meeting yesterday.

More than 50 members of the community including doctors, councillors and nurses attended the first public forum held at Gladstone Hospital.

The service's chief executive Maree Geraghty spoke about the structure and function of the new CQ hospital board, before opening the floor for questions.

"We really want to work with the community to meet the needs they require," Ms Geraghty said.
