Tickets sell well for Mayor's Ball this month

TICKETS are selling well for the Santos GLNG Mayor's Ball at the Gladstone Entertainment Convention Centre on May 30.

The previous two mayor's balls have raised more than $190,000 for local charities.

This year's beneficiaries are MAD Camps (Young People Making a Difference), Variety Queensland, CWA Young Leaders and Zonta.

Gladstone Mayor Gail Sellers said these organisations did great work to promote the health, wellbeing and status of children, youth and women in the Gladstone region and further afield.

"It is always great to see the community rally around an event like this to help," she said.

"Councillor Matt Burnett and Carly Quinn and her team at Variety have done a magnificent job organising this fun event, and I thank them for their commitment to making the Santos GLNG Mayor's Ball a highlight of the Gladstone Region social calendar.

"Plenty of fun is guaranteed with special guest speaker, former rugby league star and TV personality, Shane Webcke, and The Corporates and Soul Mystique providing the entertainment, along with live auctions and raffles."

Tickets are available through the Variety website at
