Gyms accept the challenge
GYM goers in the region have been draining more than energy lately.
Five Gladstone gyms are competing in the Red Cross Blood Service's Gyms Challenge to donate the most blood between October 1 and November 30.
Figures Health and Fitness manager and first-time donor Andrew Campbell rolled up his sleeves, hoping to encourage all Figures' staff and members to do the same.
"Giving blood is something I've always wanted to do but just never have.
"It's amazing to think in around the same time as a gym session, you can help patients, including people with cancer, mothers-to-be and newborn babies," Mr Campbell said.
With less than two weeks to go, Blood Service community relations officer Katie Woodrow is encouraging more people to get involved.
"Get your blood pumping and donate blood on behalf of your gym to save three lives and help your gym take out the title," Ms Woodrow said.
