300 grandparents celebrate special day at Kin Kora school
THE youngsters at Kin Kora State Primary School celebrated their links to past generations on Tuesday, for Grandparents Day.
About 300 grandparents made a trip to the Gladstone school for the special occasion.
The day started with a parade at 9am, where the school captains presented speeches and poems.
The grandparents then took part in activities in the children's classrooms before having a morning tea where they raised money for the Cancer Council's Biggest Morning Tea.
Principal Kay Kirkman said the grandparents travelled from all over to attend the event.
"The kids absolutely love the day; it is very special to them."
