Governments lend a hand to flood victims

RESIDENTS in flood devastated towns across the Gladstone region are set to receive some assistance from the state and federal governments.

A number of loans and grants are up for grabs under the joint federal and state funded Natural Disaster Relief and Recovery Arrangement (NDRRA).

The Queensland Rural Adjustment Authority lists the council areas that have been categorised to receive B or C levels of assistance.

Individuals living in Category B areas, which include Gladstone Regional Council and the Banana Shire Council, are eligible to apply for a loan of up to $250,000.

Those living in Category C areas, including Bundaberg, Gympie, North Burnett, Lockyer Valley and Fraser Coast, are eligible for grants of up to $25,000.
