Gladstone's building approvals may explain CQ figure spike
GROWTH in Gladstone's industrial sector could be responsible for a dramatic increase in the number of building approvals made in Central Queensland.
Since October 2011, the region has seen a 191% increase in the number of building approvals compared to a 7% fall across the state.
The Master Builders Association's Paul Bidwell said the growth in housing approvals correlated with the demand for workers in the mining and gas industry.
