Gladstone Power women win double header

THE Gladstone Power women kept their juggernaut rolling, routing South West Metro Pirates on Saturday afternoon, before backing up with a win over the Gold Coast on Sunday.

After wiping the court with the Pirates on Saturday and running out 122-65 winners, the Power women continued to up the ante, overcoming a gruelling road trip to walk away Sunday afternoon 31-point winners over the Gold Coast.

Head Coach Troy Hinds was ecstatic with the perfect record his side took away from the double header.

"Yeah last night (Saturday) was pretty solid, South West were top of the table and we were able to put some pressure on them early," Hinds said.

"The girls played some good team basketball across the board."

Singling out the fact that the Gladstone women had five players in double figures on the scoreboard against the Gold Coast on Sunday, Hinds praised the once again sublime work from leader Jess Bibby.

"She gets it all done, she had 50 (points) in the Gold Coast came and about 30-odd last night," Hinds said.

The two wins should see the Power women move back up to second on the league ladder.
