Gladstone duo part of win

GLADSTONE rugby league players Shaun Daylight and Joshua Tanner were members of the undefeated Australian Indigenous Nines team that compete in the NSWRL International Nines Tournament two weeks ago.

The competition includes NRL reserve grade sides and teams from places such as Fiji, Cook Islands, Nuie Island, Portugal and Vanuatu.

The Indigenous team's undefeated campaign began with a match against last year's winner Balmain.

Balmain, however was not the side it was the previous year, with the Australian Indigenous Nines team walking all over it to win 26-10.

All of the team's wins throughout the tournament were convincing.

Its toughest match was against Mounties, the Canberra Raiders B-grade side, in the semi-finals.

This game was very physical but the Indigenous side won 36-24.

The grand final was against Vanuatu, which it won 17-10.
