GALLERY: Khanacross event gets all the kudos it deserves
MOTORSPORT: There was yet another successful event run by Gladstone's Central Coast Car Club last weekend.
Jamie Overend hopes the CCCC Two-Day Khanacross, would be a prelude to bigger events next year.
"We would consider running another event later in the year but would need to boost competitor numbers," event organiser Overend said.
"With support, this has the potential to be major regional series for 2019."
Overend said the weekend's action was of high standard in perfect weather conditions.
The Martin family again had success. "Congrats to Jake Martin for first outright and first in 4WD Class, Keith Honour for first in Over Two Litre Class, Mark Boyd for first in the Up to Two Litre and Tyler Martin for first in Junior class," Overend said.
"There was some very entertaining and skilled driving over the two days and special mention Luke Barnes with confidence levels growing and pushing the limits as the weekend progressed."
Jake Martin added the weekend ran like clockwork.
"It was a top event and was good to start getting the legs to stretch in the car and getting four wheels off the ground over the rise," he said.
"Thanks to all of the volunteers, officials and competitors and it was a smoothly run event and plenty of runs."
Veteran driver Honour echoed Jake Martin's feedback.
"It was a top job to Jamie and all officials...another well run event by the Central Coast Car Club," he said.
