The Benaraby Drags are held tomorrow at the Benaraby Raceway. Gates open at 10am and racing starts at 5pm.

Music festival

The Agnes Water Blues Roots and Rock Festival starts today and is held till Sunday at the Seventeen Seventy SES Grounds. The festival starts at 9am both days. Tonight the festival's headliner, Russell Morris, will take the stage at 9.15pm. For tickets visit

Community day 

A community day will be at the Mount Larcom State School on Sunday from 10am - 3pm to recognise 12 months since ex Tropical Cyclone Marcia hit.


The Kmart Rotary Markets are held on Sunday from 6am - noon. The markets, held on the third Sunday of every month, offer fresh produce, jewellery, home made crafts and more.

Pony club

Miriam Vale

The Miriam Vale Lions Club invites you to the Miriam Vale Markets held tomorrow. The markets, held every third Saturday of the month, offer a variety of stalls including fresh produce and homemade crafts. Fancy something to eat? Tempt your taste buds with a sizzling fillet steak, sausage or bacon burger.

Cent sale

QCWA Ambrose branch will host a monster cent sale with entertainment of bush poetry and interpretive reading at the hall, 36 Gentle Annie Rd, Ambrose, this afternoon. Entertainment starts at 1.30pm and a cent sale starts with hoy games at 2pm. Afternoon tea will be served, a special draw, lucky door prize and a raffle. The hall doors will open at 12.30pm with thank you tokens for all comers.

Live music

Former Gladstone music teacher and The Voice contestant, Mik Laxton, will perform at The Live Room tomorrow night. Known by his artist name as Black Indie, Laxton made it into the fourth round of the singing competition in 2015 in the Madden brothers and Delta Goodrem's teams. The show is part of his last string of shows before he moves to Canada to pursue his music career. The show will be from 7pm and is $5. The Live Room is a venue at Anthony Breed Music on Toolooa St

Fundraising bootcamp

A bootcamp will be held on Sunday from 7.30 - 8.30am to help raise money for a group of Tannum Sands residents to take part in the Kokoda Challenge. It will be held at the Dennis Park Netball Courts and is $15 per person.
