Free Read and Grow Workshop with BUSHkids Agnes Water
Kids in Agnes Water can get a great start in developing their reading skills thanks to BUSHkids. Read and Grow promotes the development of early literacy and language skills, working to give children a good start in life. Parents are encouraged to read aloud and share books with their children from birth.
BUSHkids are holding Read and Grow workshops at Agnes Water State School, on Wednesday, 11th May from 2:00pm - 2:45pm for Parents, and 5:00pm - 8:30pm for Facilitators.
The workshop will enable participants to be ready to plan and deliver a Read and Grow session. Participants will learn to build upon their knowledge of emergent literacy skills, understand the 4 Read and Grow strategies to enhance shared story time and develop emergent literacy skills in children and have the skills and resources to educate others regarding the importance of story sharing and strategies to enhance story sharing and emergent literacy skills.
Read and Grow is a parent-child interactive story sharing program that was developed for the Northern Gold Coast Communities for Children, an initiative of the Australian Government Department of Families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs.
