Free family day celebrates launch of new services
A FAMILY day has been planned by UnitingCare Community to celebrate the launch of two new family support services in the Gladstone area.
Family and Child Connect and the Intensive Family Support Service has invited the community to a free Family Fun Day at the Barney Point Beach Parklands on Saturday.
"These two new services strengthen the support UnitingCare Community provides in the Gladstone community," community director Samantha Klintworth said.
Family and Child Connect is a free service to help families with the challenges of parenthood.
Staff in the service work with individuals and connect them with the specific support they need.
Launching at the same time will be UnitingCare Community's Intensive Family Support Service.
This service supports families to provide safe and nurturing environments for their children.
"The service works with families to strengthen their ability to continue to care for their children," Ms Klintworth said.
"Depending on the need of the family, the Intensive Family Support Service provides a mix of practical services, personal support and clinical services such as counselling.
The family day will include a free barbecue, jumping castle and activities for the kids.
It will be held at Prince Regent Esplanade, Barney point, from 10am to noon on Saturday.
