UPDATE: Structure saved from Ambrose grass fire

6.45pm: THE GRASS fire at Ambrose which required the attendance of five fire crews has been brought under control.

No one was injured and no property was damaged due to the blaze.

A single crew from the Cedar Vale Rural Fire Brigade remains on the scene to monitor the fire overnight.

3.15pm: A SECOND rural fire unit has been dispatched to the scene of a grass fire on Engstrom Rd at Ambrose, bringing the total amount of fire crews on the scene to five.

A large fire is currently burning at the location, with fire fighters constructing containment lines to ensure the blaze doesn't spread to neighbouring properties.

A QFES spokesperson said crews on the scene had successfully protected a structure which was earlier threatened by the fire, and the blaze did not currently pose a threat to any lives or structures.

2pm: THREE URBAN fire crews and one rural unit are responding to reports of a grass fire at Ambrose, south west of Mt Larcom.

A QFES spokesperson said fire fighters were not yet on the scene as of 1.50pm.

The fire is reportedly located on Engstrom Rd, with Hut Creek Rd the nearest intersection.
