Ford adds special Ranger version in time for Christmas

HARDCORE special edition FX4s will return to the Ford Ranger line-up in December.

Based on the Ranger XLT dual-cab 4x4, the FX4 has a range of external and internal upgrades. Pricing is yet to be revealed.

The special edition will be limited to 1000 units.

Key upgrades include a black mesh grille, flanked by darkened versions of the Bi-LED High Performance Headlights, black lower valence and mirror caps, specific 18-inch alloy wheels, as well as black door handles and front guard fender.

The tray hosts a protective bedliner and an extended black-finish sports bar.

Five exterior colour choices include black, white, red, grey and aluminium.

Inside it gains sports bucket seats which are leather-accented with a special pattern design, embossed with red FX4 logos on the seatbacks. Red stitching is used on the gear selector, handbrake cover steering wheel and door trim, while there arespecial FX4-branded floor mats.

“The addition of the new Ranger FX4 to our line up really steps things up for customers,” said Ford Australia and New Zealand president and CEO, Kay Hart.

“The upgraded Ranger FX4 brings all the capability of the XLT, including standard AEB with pedestrian detection, and adds its very own design elements and features, to offer Ranger customers even more choice.”
