WATCH: Whales circle fishermen's boat in Gladstone
IT WAS enough to send a pair of fishermen flipping mad - a pod of whales frolicking about, right next to their boat.
It was on Sunday when Brad Scott and his mate Mark Heath were treated to this unique experience during their fishing trip.
While they were at Hummock Hill, three pods of humpback whales swam past and some decided to stick around to show the fishermen some tricks.
The whales rolled over, held up their flippers and swam slowly underneath the boat.
It's not the first time Brad has spotted a whale in Gladstone's waters, but he says he's never been this close.
"We've never had one come up to the boat and hang around for half an hour to check us out," he said.

"There where also another three or four pods we saw around the same area on Sunday."
While they did catch footage on camera, taking plenty of photos and videos, they didn't catch much else.
The fishing trip was an unsuccessful one and they returned home without any seafood but plenty of memories.
