
Region's firefighters receive medals for top service
NINE Gladstone region firefighters have received top honours for service at a Queensland Fire and Rescue Service Gladstone medal presentation.
Assistant Minister for Emergency Volunteers Ted Malone on Sunday awarded full-time and auxiliary firefighters with a range of medals.
Lieutenant Henry Chapman and firefighters Derek Treichel and Edward O'Brien were awarded National Medals for their 15 years of service with QFRS.
Second clasps for 35 years of service went to Gladstone Station Officer Harold Tattersall and Inspector Wayne Larkin.
A Diligent and Ethical Service medal was awarded to Biloela Fire and Rescue Inspector David Young.
