Fire crews respond to blaze in Boyne Valley

UPDATE:

A QUEENSLAND Fire and Emergency Service spokesperson said back burning of the fire at Boynedale was done by 4pm.

They said one unit would remain on scene and monitor the situation.

EARLIER:

MULTIPLE Queensland Fire and Emergency Services crews are fighting a vegetation fire burning near Gladstone Monto and Bush Camp Rd, Boynedale.

According to the service, there is no threat to property at this time.

"Firefighters are working to contain the fire and will be backburning in the area," a statement said.

"This fire broke out around 1.15pm today and is producing large amounts of smoke.

Motorists are advised to drive with caution and to conditions as smoke can decrease visibility on the road.

Residents and campers in the area are advised to close windows and doors and keep medications close by if suffering from a respiratory condition.

If residents are concerned their property is under threat they should call 000 immediately
