Police prosecutor Sergeant Sean Franklin told the court Oglesby had been a guest at the 21st when security had asked him to leave following a disturbance.

Police attended and went to escort Oglesby out, before he turned and began screaming obscenities at officers, according to police.

Oglesby and another then boxed officers into a corner, forcing police to use capsicum spray, before Oglesby was arrested.

Magistrate Ron Muirhead told Oglesby his behaviour had been "completely out of order" and fined him $1000 in total for both offences.

Oglesby was on probation at the time for other unrelated matters.

He had convictions recorded against him and was banned from The Reef Hotel for 12 months.
