Find a fluffy friend at Gladstone's cat adoption day

FRIENDS of RSPCA Gladstone are bursting at the seams with fluffy pals, leaving volunteers and co-ordinators with worry.

A cat adoption day will be held tomorrow at 17 Pams Court, Beecher from 10am to 1pm.

Although they happily adopted out seven cats this week, cat co-ordinator Anita Coad said RSPCA was constantly retrieving more cats without a home.

RSPCA has been at its threshold with 60 cats and kittens for months.

"We have a mixture of cats for anyone," Ms Coad said.

Both family-oriented cats, suitable for children, and older cats, that would be at peace in a quiet home, were available, she said.

"But people have to remember your animal is your responsibility."

Desexing your pet poses many advantages, and Ms Coad swears by it.

"It decreases the chances of diseases and early death."

Ms Coad said the group was always happy to consider a discount, and people should ask for specials on the day.

Visitors are advised to bring a cat carry cage.
