Field archers targeting newcomers
ARCHERY: Potential bowmen will have a fun time out when the Gladstone Field Archers hold a come-and-try day on Sunday.
Club secretary Steve Wyatt said the day out was a great way to try archery, have some fun and was open to families.
"We will start off with a variety of ranges and targets from 15m then move to 20m and 50m, afterwards have some moving targets for a bit of fun," Wyatt said.
"The good thing about archery, five-year-old to grandparents can do it and it can be a really good family outing for the day."
The day out is at the end of Awoonga Dam and interested archers need to go to the second boat ramp between 8-9am.
Cost is $10pp and includes hire of equipment.
There will be a regular shoot for club members to practise their archery skills as well.
"It doesn't take that long to learn and there will be a barbecue on at the clubhouse and the club members will get out with the learners on a practise range and teach them how to do it," Wyatt said.
