Farmers share in $45m agricultural training program
NSW farmers are now eligible to receive $5000 individual grants to participate in vocational training and farm business planning.
As well as the grants for individuals, the new Farm Business Skills program allocates a maximum of $9000 for each farm business, able to be claimed over the next five years.
Primary Industries Minister Niall Blair said the $45 million scheme was a core component of the government's $300 million drought strategy.
"This $45 million program provides farmers with the funding they need to up-skill and develop farm business plans, as part of this government's five-year strategy to help the sector be better prepared and better able to manage risks," he said.
