Euleilah bridge to close overnight for asphalt works

EULEILAH Creek Bridge will be closed to traffic for one night on Monday so an asphalt deck surface can be laid as part of bridge repairs.

Gladstone Regional Council rural services portfolio spokesman Leo Neill-Ballantine said the bridge on Hills Rd would be closed from 5pm on Monday, March 3 until 6am on Tuesday, March 4.

Emergency vehicles will still be able to access the bridge.

"As there will be no access for general traffic during the closure, work will be carried out at night to minimise the disruptions to residents," Cr Neill-Ballantine said.

"The bridge is a vital link for the Baffle Creek community and residents are thanked for their patience and understanding as the necessary repairs continue."

Following the night closure, Euleilah Creek Bridge will continue to have limited opening times as works progress.

The bridge is open 10 minutes on the hour from 7am to 4pm on Monday to Friday, with exceptions for the school bus and emergency services.

Bridge operations return to normal each day after 4pm and access is unaffected on weekends.

Works are expected to be completed on April 8, weather permitting.
