Gladstone couple's evening 'that was just ours'
JOSH "Wally" Greig and Tara Roberts' engagement party was the first time the couple had a celebration where the spotlight was solely on them.
This month the couple celebrated their engagement with 50 of their friends and family at the Queens Hotel.
"We'd never really had anything that was just ours," Tara said.
"The whole night we were getting around trying to talk to everyone, but it was really good just to have everyone together.
"We had some family travel to be there, which was really great." Josh and Tara have been engaged since June and they're busy preparing their wedding day for August 19, 2017.
They're going to have it by the water at Spinnaker Park with about 80 of their close friends and family.
Already Tara has bought her dress, but she's kept the details of it under wraps.
"My sister and I went to Rocky and she showed me some dresses and I wasn't too fussed on most of them.
"But then I tried this one on and I knew straight away," she said.
Getting in touch with his romantic side, Josh proposed to Tara during a helicopter ride over the Tasmanian hinterland.
"I wasn't expecting it at all because we'd never really spoken about it," Tara said.
"So it completely took me by surprise."
The born and bred Gladstone couple started dating five years ago after having met through mutual friends.
Now they're parents to two young boys, aged 2 and 4.
