Ellen keen to call Gladstone home - or is she?

Happy April Fool's Day everyone! We hope you enjoyed Rebecca Danslow's special report today.

SHE hinted she'd love to live in Australia on her recent trip down under and it looks like talk show queen Ellen DeGeneres may soon call Australia home.

In a move that's shocked the Los Angeles community, it's been revealed by a close source that Ellen and wife Portia de Rossi are hoping to move to the Gladstone region in Central Queensland, a location that's left A-listers across the country baffled.

In a recent interview, Ellen told reporters she wanted to "live somewhere she loves it", and that's certainly not Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne.

Last week, the 55-year-old comedian and her 40-year-old wife were sighted at a property inspection at Riverstone Rise, Tannum Sands and later seen strolling along the Tannum esplanade.

But it looks as though Ellen won't be looking for work on Curtis Island.

A close source said she planned to continue filming The Ellen DeGeneres Show, live from the Marina Main Stage.

"Ellen's really looking forward to broadcasting from new location and the Gladstone region has been on her list places to settle down for some time," the source said.

"I think the Gladstone region can expect quite a bit of attention in the upcoming months as Ellen and her entourage prepare to roll into town."

With QantasLink recently offering direct flights to LA at heavily discounted prices, Ellen will still be able to make regular appearances in the US.
