Elements combine for fab festival in ideal location
AS A festival rookie, I may be more easily impressed than most, but with perfect weather and a line-up of artists that gave their all - this year's Agnes Blues and Roots Festival was absolute class.
The location may have helped, actually it helped a lot.
Time in the region's relaxed south makes a long weekend feel a lot longer than three days.
Ease of convenience also helped.
With accommodation at Pavilions on 1770 and free bus services that could not be faulted, carefree was the only way to be last weekend.
The drivers were kind enough to even pick up a rambling mob on the side of the road who had too high expectations on how far they could walk, not once but twice. Legends!
The only time a quizzical look passed my face was because there were so many rug rats running around late at night.
Don't get me wrong, their antics were adorable, but by the time of the last acts it was far past their bedtime.
Let's hope next year more seats will be filled. Sunday's showing for the top talent on offer was a little small.
So, organise some mates, pop down some leave to make the most of next year's festival and support a great event.
